Hi

I m creating the logical standby database using rman. I have successfully restore the database using
========================================
DUPLICATE TARGET DATABASE FOR STANDBY;
========================================


but while opening the database i facing some problem

===========================================
SQL> ALTER DATABASE mount standby database;
Database altered.

SQL> ALTER DATABASE GUARD ALL;

Database altered.

SQL> ALTER DATABASE OPEN RESETLOGS;
ALTER DATABASE OPEN RESETLOGS
*
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-01666: control file is for a standby database

I don't know much for logical standby but it seems to me that duplicate command is for physical standby only.

can u please provide the link for creating the logical standby database using RMAN because doc which i am using nothing is mentioned weather it is logical or physical

As you are using a 10.2 database you should refer to 10.2 documentation and not 9.2 one.

No, this is what I said, I don't think this is possible, RMAN is for physical standby.
