Hi guys,
i have an application with several interactive reports.
I need a 'download option' vs Excel so interactive report is fine for me!

I cannot use CSV format because Excel delete leading zero in not-numeric fields....

In documentation i saw several downloading format: CSV, PDF, Excel and RTF, but in my installation i find only CSV and PDF.

I can't find how to enable XLS and RTF format for download from interactive report.

I have two Apex installations (same release), on Unix (10g) and Windows (XE).

Anyone could help? In attachment an image showing it.

Thanks in advance.

Roberto

hi,

technically i can not give solution however what i did and achieved to overcome leading zero's problem while converting csv and xls for downloading can be explained.

I just opened xls file and simply saved as .csv file. and closed it. I have not tested on opening the csv file. Then straightaway through apex import option i pooled data file from csv ( which has been recently saved) through utilities no damage has been happened for leading zeros.

am i nearer to your problem

Thanks for your reply.
What i need to do is a page with an interactive report and use the tools (as you know) available in it, like download in any format.

This because users want to download the data in Excel for further manipulation.

In my installations I haven't the checkbox for XLS and RTF download formatting.
In Apex manuals (installation and admin guides) i didn't find how to enable this formatting option for download actions, while in developers guide i saw this kind of options.

I'm looking for tips on how enable them.....

Thanks again.

I found that online documentation is for APEX 3.1.2, but my installation is versione 3.1.0.00.32.
Maybe my problem could be resolved with an upgrade?

In any case, in download page from OTN i see that the last version is 3.1.1, also in metalink i found only version 3.1.1

There is a mistake in documentation?

Excel and RTF download formatting option is only available in this very last version 3.1.2?
Where can i find the 3.1.2?

Thanks.

Hi everybody,
little update.

I've just installed patch 'p7032837_11106_GENERIC.zip' from metalink.
Now my Apex version is 3.1.1.00.09 (db is 10.2.0.1), but still i cannot see XLS and RTF download format options for the Interactive Report.

Also, i visited the online demo for Apex: http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=22359, where you can see an example of what i mean....

Please help....

Thanks

No yet XLS and RTF donwload format options.

But on Oracle Forums i found a 3d telling that we need BI Publisher in order to have those options....

hi,

i was also waiting will there be any other solution without using BIP. If we can find some option without using BIP then we can some more wonders on reporting like Invoice generation (free format reports ) printing on preprinted stationary etc.

when you get some sort of suggestions on this aspect please pass it to me too.

Yes, it's true.

I wonder if Apex Developer Team could integrate the solution made by Denes Kubicek (http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=31517:108:979050666792099) in Interactive Report.

This works fine with normal report!
