Hi!
I've got a Data guard environment with a "maximum performance" protection mode. I've read that with this kind of protection mode i ought to be using an ASYNC log transport. I'm using SYNC log transport and it works fine, may I have any problems?
Will redo log be instantly "transported" with an ASYNC mode?

Thanks in advance,
Daniela.

I would suggest using standby redo logs and using LGWR and ASYNC. With this configuration, you can reduce the amount of data loss on the standby database if the primary fails. ASYNC will write to the remote destination at the same time it writes to the local online redo log.
