We need to install SQL*net and Oracle 7 ODBC drivers. Many times we can install either one, but when doing the second one we get Orainst.exe errors "The instruction at "blahblah" reference memory at "0x00000010". The memory could not be read. We use the latest drivers....

Anyone experienced this? Solutions?

Hi Conrad.

That's a service pack problem. Which service pack are you running? SP3 = good. SP6 = good. All the rest = bad.

Cheers,

Dave

Turns out that it was the Oracle installer. We were using one that came with the Government software that we use and it was the non-2000 compliant version. The new version works.
