Is it possible to share the 32-bit SQL*Net Client on the Network? We have to install many SQL*Net Clients. With the 16-bit SQL*Net Client, we did this with a shared directory on the network and a local ORACLE.INI which referes to this directory. With the 32-bit Client one have a lot of registry entries. Is there any possibility to do it in an easy way?

1. Install SQL*Net on your shared network drive
(or any other Oracle app.)
2. Save Oracle key on that client into file
3. With kix script update your clients registry;
3.1. first make backup of the current key into
file (\ORANT\oracle_key.bak)on each
client (just to be on the safe side)
3.1. delete old key and restore the new one
Of course it's much easier for you if you have domain, then you can put your script on PDC.
bye,

I forgot one important step in add. to step 1.;
1.1 before installing SQL*Net you should make a
snapshot of your files in \winnt\system32 (or \system if you're using Win'95/98) with utilitiy such as windiff.exe (NT resource kit) or search on your CD for all the files that Oracle will install in your \system directory. After installation of Oracle is done you can compare with windiff and copy those files to your clients.
All these could be done with single kix script.
