Hello everybody!

I've got a Oracle Server 7.3.4 (on Windows NT) with the Enterprise Backup Utility 2.2 installed. I configured the EBU to work with the Legato Networker. I can backup my Database with the Legato and it works fine. Can somebody give me a roadmap or something else how I can restore/recover the Database with the EBU. Who has experience with the EBU and can give me an example of a working Backup/Restore Script?
And where can I get an update for the EBU?

Best Regards
Patrick

EBU has been replaced with RMAN. Whatever version you have will probably be the latest available.

I have read this Article on Oracle-FAQ Site and i've got this probem during backup of the catalog database. My version of the EBU for NT is 2.2.0.3.0. Maybe it would give a patch for the NT version.

Oracle FAQ Article:
There are several serious problems using EBU on and after Jan 1 2000:
- When NLS_DATE_FORMAT includes YYYY or CC formats
- Doing catalog backup/restore broken regardless of NLS_DATE_FORMAT.
Work-around is to exlude century from NLS_DATE_FORMAT (use YY for year)
and specify CATALOG=NONE. Setting to P2 since CATALOG functionality lost.
A patch is planned for 2.2 but not 2.1, since it is expected that by 2000
only EBU 2.2 will be supported.

Just to confirm customers are now experiencing this with Y2K tests.
The error stack is as follows:
Starting Catalog Backup job building
EBU-3135: SQL error during:
DECLARE /* insert into OBK_CAT_BCK */ ...
with error:
ORA-01455: converting column overflows integer datatype
on 10-JAN-00 15:38 1954 : brsupiexc
EBU-2693: Error while creating entry in Catalog for backup of Catalog
on 10-JAN-00 15:38 1954 : brctcgendmp
EBU-3120: SQL error reported from Catalog Database
on 10-JAN-00 15:38 1954 : brcjcrecat
This should help people diagnose the problem.

Go to metalink.oracle.com. There are three patchsets for EBU on the website.

Hello Melissa!
Thank you for your answer. But I have no Metalink account to login.
