From the name you give, I think so but I have no more information than you.
If you want to be sure, contact Oracle.

ALWAYS post a link to what you are refering to.

As long as your windows 2008 server is in 64 bit mode (arnt they all? Not sure... I detest windows and rarely use it) then that is the right file.

As it is said in the page:

Quote:
Enterprise/Standard Edition for Microsoft Windows Vista x64, Windows Server 2008 x64, Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 x64, Windows 7 x64

So if it is the Oracle edition you want and the OS you have, this is the correct file.
The "client" file allows to get more tools.
The "companion" file contains some (useful) demo schemas.

It seems that your operating system version is too high.

What is the result of "ver" command, issued at Windows' command prompt? (here's an example):
M:\>ver

Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]

M:\>

Find the files named "refhost.xml", duplicate the 6.0 section and modify it as 6.1.

I made the changes in the following files and it worked:

1. C:\dumps\Oracle 10.2.0.4\database\install\oraparam.ini : Change entry Windows=5.0,5.1,5.2,6.0 to Windows=5.0,5.1,5.2,6.0,6.1
2. C:\dumps\Oracle 10.2.0.4\database\stage\prereq\db\refhost.xml: Include a tag for 6.1 also.
3. C:\dumps\Oracle 10.2.0.4\database\stage\prereq\db_prereqs\db\refhost.xml: Include a tag for 6.1 also.

Better way would be to find the install folder,
locate the oraparam.ini file from the source dvd/cdrom/folder that has installables -
make a copy of it , edit it using notepad or other text editor,
find the windows versions section .. and add 6.1/ or your vista/xp version in it.
run the installer again .. it will go through.

I don't know the answer to your first question.

You can not download 10g at all any more (which includes Windows 2008), so you'll have to contact Oracle Support - they might provide it for you.
