Dear Friends ,

I am little confused regarding UNDO_RETENTION parameter . I know that it is used when a record is changed on the database , the old value resided on the undo tablespace until it reaches to the 'UNDO_RETENTION' parameter value (suppose 900 sec) .

Now I have a question and that is what happen when an old value resides the undo ts upto 900 sec ? Is the old value automatically commit the old value or rollback the value ?

Also, what happen if my undo tablespace is automatically extended regarding this issue ?

Please help to give me the clear concept .. ...
