Hello All,

As per the documentation and Arch of Oracle Golden Gate it says that it can be inplemented for Database ( or heterogeneous databases)

It can not be used as a replication for the File sytem (ex APPL_TOP / INST_TOP / ORACLE_HOME ). My TL ask for the Proof. I tried over Google but did not found any Stong point supporting mine.

Can you help me in this ?

Regards,

Topic title says Discoverer, first line of question says Golden Gate, which are you actually talking about (I assume goldengate)?

Regardless if the documentation says that a product can't do X then that should be all the proof anyone needs, what is your TL expecting exactly?

Thank you for your reply.

My TL is after to know whether Oracle Golden Gate can be applied to APPL_TOP / ORACLE_HOME / SOA for the file system maintainces.

Like suppose Golden gate fetches data from multiple database in the same way can that be used to get Modified files in APPL_TOP / Oracle Homes ..etc

You say the documentation says it can't do what your TL wants. What more proof does your TL need?

Documentation says that Oracle Database can be used for databases.

I know but I did not found that this can not be used for File system like APPL_TOP, ORACLE_HOME, etc

he want that Oracle Golden Gate can not be used for the APPLICATION in terms of documentation.

Nobody saw Martians, so far. Does it mean that they don't exist, or that they are invisible?
