Is that Windows 7 your host system, or the guest vm in which you are trying to install?

oracle 10 isn't certified on Windows 7.
oracle 10 isn't even publicly available, as it has been de-supported for quite some time now. Where did you get it? Why would you even be attempting to install it?

Beware of 32-bit vs 64-bit issues.

install VirtualBox & then load pre-configured VM which has Oracle DB already installed

I am using guest vm.

That didn't answer any of my questions. The only one it appears to be attempting to answer is if the Win7 you refer to is the host or guest vm, but your answer is so short and terse, that it I still don't know if the Win7 you refer to is the host or the guest.

What about the other points I raised?
- Oracle 10 not certified on Win 7
- Oracle 10 not supported at all
- Oracle 10 not publicly available
- 32-bit vs 64-bit questions.
