Hi everybody,

I tried to create a database on Oracle 11 but got these error message. Pls help me to resolve them Sad
- ORA-19870: error reading backup piece
- ORA-19599: block number 45289 is corrupt in backup piece

I suspect that you have a corrupt backup.

I searched on many sites but can't resolve this. I also tried to deinstall then reinstall many times Sad

Your backup is corrupted, there is nothing you can do but use another backup.

You use EM or DBCA, I don't use and know them, I can move your topic to our Enterprise Manager forum if you want but I'm not sure it is more appropriate than this one.
Maybe someone else can answer this point.

You have a damaged template file. You could select a different template when creating the database (fr example, the "custom" template does not rely on any existing files) or you could deinstall and reinstall. You say the tried to deinstall/reinstall ay times, but clearly none if those times actually worked. What went wrong?
