Reports 2.1 ... whoa, that's an old piece of software! I didn't even know it exists. I know 1.1, 2.5, 4.5, 6i, ..., but have never heard of 2.1.

Anyway: I don't know whether the following works in that version too, but - you might try. I hope you'll be able to adjust it to your version. Here's one of previous discussions about watermarks.

I thought that you'll post YOUR screenshot, result of what you've done so that we'd see how it looks like. I know how watermark is supposed to look like, I don't know how your watermark looks like.

Perhaps you should send your watermark to the background (so that every other object is placed over it).

Navigate to the "Layout" menu. In there, you'll see
- Bring to Front
- Send to Back
- Move Forward
- Move Backward

which are to be used for such a purpose.

It seems that you put it as "&<WATER_MARK>". Well, you should remove brackets and use "&WATER_MARK only".

I explained how to move it backward (or forward).

What about its color? In order to change it, select the field (in the Paper Layout Editor) and change the color using a Color Palette in the vertical toolbar.

I came a cross this solution when you insert a watermark in oracle report but its not working im getting lost in point 5 ,6 and 7.

1. Make your report as usual
2. Ensure report is running as normal.
3. Now in Data Model, create a formula CF_1 as character type with below code
-----------
function CF_1Formula return Char is
begin
Return('This is watermark');
end;
---------
4. In Layout screen, create a TEXT field with name '&CF_1'
5. Keep behind the Repeating frame.
6. Now move ,Size & Print Direction by ROTATE tool from tool box.
7. Select this Text and ->Arrange->Send to Back.
8.Run the Report and Enjoy.

Opening a new topic won't help much, so - as we've already begun the discussion here, I merged those two topics.

PDF you attached doesn't show the watermark itself, but a field. Is it a field? It should NOT be a field, especially not with "&<WATER_MARK>" in it. In Paper Layout Editor, choose the text tool and start typing, literally "&WATER_MARK" (as that's how you named the formula column).
