I am encountering the tnsping hung problem right now. So I'd like to understand more of KSREENIVAS' answers: tnsping does two things: ping the server and test the port availability to the database. In the process, which part has anything to do with database tunning? How many MB of physical memory this process required (I don't think tnsping requires BEQ process.)?
