Hi,
I don't know Oracle, I'm a networking guy. I've been watching some of our Oracle apps on the network and see a lot of errors. One app spend hours cycling through 4 packets; 1)OFETCH - Fetch row 2)Row transfer header 3)OEXEC - Execute statement 4)Error return status.
The sequence number and cursor number change with each fetch request so its not looping. Its more like its stepping through a table a wasting a lot of time and processing power on rows it doesnt need. Does this seem normal?
Can anyone point to a reference that describes sql network activity, what is normal, bad and signs of bad programming?
