I have two databases on my system (oracle 9.0 and oracle 8.1.6). I could connect to both of them individually. Even, i could access oracle 8.1.6 thru oracle9.0. But, i couldnt connect to oracle 9.0 thru 8.1.6. Thanks in advance.

Got the answer to my situation by changing tnsname.ora file.
