Hi,
I read your reply for the Subject "Where can Net8 be downloaded". As u said, I used telnet to connect sqlplus and i created some procedures already. I need to test it from VB. I want to provide a connection between VB and SQL Plus. That's why i asked about Net8. I think you have understand my requirement clearly now. SQL plus is in a Redhad linux machine and VB in win98 machine. I haven't specified it in the previous message. Any way, if you have solutions please tell me.

Hi Abdhul,
For a VB App to run on win98 and make connection to oracle, u need more than just Microsoft's ODBC Driver for oracle.
You'll need an oracle client application. You can find it here:

http://otn.oracle.com/software/products/oracle8i/htdocs/winsoft.html

Select custom install from the client application and u should be able to find Net8 together with many other useful tools. Remember to distribute this application if u need to install in the client machine in the future. Yes, every single machine that needs to connect to oracle (Painful, i've experienced it before)

You can use a special ODBC Driver that avoid the need of Net8. Check it out here

Now the bad news - They arent free.

Tell me if any problems.
