Hi,
I have installed Oracle 8i Enterpise Edition and Oracle 8i Client on the same machine (Windows 2000). But I cannot connect to Oracle server (problem with service name) through SQLPlus of the Oracle Client. What I have to do?

Thank you

by default if you have the database and client in the same machine, you no need to enter the service name.
if you want to use a service name, add entries in tnsnames.ora.
SQL> connect mag/mag -- without service name
Connected.
SQL> connect mag/mag@local -- using service name LOCAL
Connected.
