Hi
I installed oracle 8i standard edition on windows 2000. However, tnslsnr.exe dosen't startup. The error message says that tnslsnr.exe could not be started will be shut down by windows.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

can you post the exact message?
try LSNRCTL START from the prompt.
in case of errors , look into listener.log and post the exact messags.

The error message goes something like this. It appears as soon as windows 2000 boots up. 'tnslsnr.exe has generated arrors and will be shut down by windows. the program needs to be restarted"

I want to install oracle enterprises edition on 2000
advanced server
priviously we are having same in 2000 server
after in stalling in advaned server i am getting error
tns could not reached to destination
is there problem with domain name
priviously we are working in workgroup
pl help me
