Reg : ora-06401 invalid driver designator [message #67044]

Hi all,

I tried to connect to a database using (<username>/<password>@<netrservice name> ) netservice name . Oracle gives error Ora-06401.When I checked the validity of the netservice name with 'tnsping' command.I get reply OK from the database . What could be the error .

are u in UNIX env?
what is the version of oracle and sqlnet?
what is the version of sqlplus or any other client tool you connecting with?

if unix, first try to relink the sqlplus tool

can you explain how to relink? I am getting same error while I trying connect from 8i sqlplus to 9i oracle server on solaris.
