I would like to connect to an 8.1.7 database which resides on a server sitting on a different subnet. Is this possible and if so, where can I find information on how to accomplish this?
Thank you very much.

Joe

I dont think that being on a different subnet makes any difference, unless it requires going through a firewall, which would require you to speak to your network team. You might have to specify the IP address instead of a hostname in your TNSNAMES.ORA file, but thats a DNS issue that can occur even on the same subnet.
