Management Service Will Not Start [message #67910]

I rebooted our server the other day and now for some crazy reason the Management Server will not start up. I check the oms.nohup and this is all that I have:

OEMCTRL for Solaris: Version 2.2.0.0.0
Copyright (c) 1998, 2000, Oracle Corporation. All rights reserved.
Starting the Oracle Management Server...java.lang.NullPointerException
at oracle.sysman.vxa.VxaAppServer.<init>(VxaAppServer.java:710)
at oracle.sysman.vxa.VxaAppServer.main(VxaAppServer.java:2392)
Exception in thread "main"

If anyone has any ideas on this one I would appreciate it.

Use a JDBC connect string to connect to the OEM Repository, and not a SQL*Net TNS service name. The JDBC connect string is of the form:

host:port:sid
For example, 
RDOMS:1732:rdtest

Use Enterprise Manager Configuration Assistant to edit configuration paramters,
and change the connect string.

I put in the jdbc connection into the configuration assistant and this is the error message I am getting now... it repeats the following error about 8 times. Any ideas?

is there any other error message alongwith? (VXA-2018)??
Make sure the database service is started before the OMS service.
