I am trying to import a database into Oracle8i on NT, and with the import wizard it "Sends request to remote host" OK, then "Request Received" OK, but stalls when it gets to "Import files being read and processed".

It sits at this step indefinately (well at least 2 hours, which is where I gave up, the import database is about 180KByte as a DMP file).

Anyone come across this before? Any ideas how to get around it?

Thanks in advance.
Andrew.

OK< fixed it, it was because some of the Oracle services on NT weren't running. I ensured all services were started, and the file was processed. Shame that the documentation does not state what each of the services does!

Cheers,
Andrew.
