Hey all!

I am by no means a Oracle DBA, I just have to get a database imported so I can begin working on my senior thesis. I am trying to import a v8.1.6 db into v8.1.7 using the following import script in a parameter file

IGNORE=Y
LOG=C:full path nameIMP_R_TABLES_ERRORS.LOG
FILE=ed_for_adam_ascii.dat
FROMUSER=CORE
TOUSER=

My compatibliity parameter is set to 8.1.0. I have also tried the import utility in DBA Studio using the same parameters and always get the same result.

IMP-00010 not a valid export file, header failed verification.

The size of the import file is over 350mb does that perhaps have anything to do with it?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

How did you get this export file? The extention on this file should be .dmp.
