hi,

My problem is I have (exported) created a dump file using oracle8.1.5 version's exp command. Later on I want to import the dump file into oracle8.0.6 version which was created using oracle8.1.5. But i get error messages when I try to import the dump file.

can anyone help me out to solve this problem?

Use the 8.0.6 export utility/binary on the 8.1.5 DB.

here is the main step in this downupgrade. You need to export utility(v8.0) from 8i database and import utility (v8.0) back to 8.0 database. hope this is helping.

Ravi,

What error u are getting.. while importing into the 806.
>Is both the homes are in the same box?
> is compatability parameter is setted in the init.ora?
>did u set the path in 806 environment?

Check all of the above.. let me know.. the above so that I can help you more..
