Hi folks,
i've a problem starting a Oracle Listener over lsnrctl.

I create a regular listener.ora, that's been founded by Oracle. But when I try to start the listener in lsnrctl the following error message appears:

Failed to start service, error 1058:
TNS-12560: TNS: Protokolladapterfehler
TNS-00530: Protokolladapter-Fehler
32-bit Windows Error: 1058: Unknown error

When I try to start the Listener manually over the MS services the following error message appears:
The Oracle Listener on \xx could not be started.
Error 1058: the service is deacitivated oder could not be started.

Although the service is correctly entered in the registry.

Do anybody know this error and a solution for this problem?

Best regards,
Thomas Scheer

OracleTNSlistener will not start and reports Windows NT error 1058, which states that 'The Specified Service is Disabled and cannot be started'.
If you already have a service 'Oracle<SID>TNSListener' and you try to recreate it
it should be disabled .You must delete from the registry before it has been recreated.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesOracle<SID>TNSListener
so,
Goto control panel,select services.
On the specified service, select 'hardware profiles'.
Enable the profil and validate it by OK .
You can start the service,no more error should be displayed.
