I am trying to import full database (.dmp) from oracle8.1.5 to oracle8.1.7. Import is taking lot of time and failing with warnings.
"imp-00009: abnormal end of export file ".

oracle 8.1.5 database is not up during the import.
someone let me know how to import the whole database. do I need to replicate user defined tablespaces structures in the target database.
let me know immediately.

can you provide more information? error messages?
becuase imp-00009 rises in many situations.
one most common reason is, the DMP file may be corrupted. IF the DMP file is from another machine, make sure that it is ftp'ied with BIN
