I'm trying to import datasets from the mainframe into a Oracle database (on Unix). Currently, I'm FTPing the files down to our LAN (NT) and they look all garbled. Apparently that's due to the files being in EBCDIC format and containing packed fields and low values. Can SQL*Loader translate these files or do I have to do it elswhere (on mainframe, pc utility, unix utility, etc.)? Does anyone know of a simple process for moving Mainframe datasets to an Oracle Database?

Thanks in advance!
