how can i add extra columns in report which r not in database. can anybody help me?

First of all what is the necessity for adding a column to u'r report is it for and Calculation section or is it just a Place holder or are u using a Standard summary column where in u can calculate the Avg,sum count ......etc
For all this the logic applies the same
Step One
U need to have a source in the Data model and u need to Know where exactly u need to put the column in the Layout model
Regarding Data model You need to put a formula Column or a Place Holder or a Summary column and place it in a Proper Group If applied or if the calculation is with respect to the Whole Report then u need to place the Columns out side th Groups in u'r report data Model
If it is A Formula Colum Then
U need to Return a Number,Char or Date By havein the necessory Formuls
If it is a Summary Column The Specify the Return type and the The Source and then The Reset where in u are setting it at report level or any of the Group u have already in u;r report
If it is A place holder then U can use this which can refer the X Group from Y group Filds
As soon as the Data model is Finished the
Step Two
Open the layout, First of all u need to be familiar with the Layout to add if not Please keep a Back up of the Report and then go ahead
As u know where exactly u need to place the Field , Select the Field and Place it Propery So that U Need to Fix all the Properties If u Find it Difficult Please Select the Flex Mode on and Drag The Report so that u can add one more field If there is a Field already thenCopy the Field and Paste the same again Place the Field Propery
Press f4 Go to the Properties Go to the Source and specify the name in which u had created in the Data model
Run the Report Sit and Enjoy
