Hi,

I have installed Oracle 8i on windows 2000. I am able to access the database using SQL PLus but only on the machine where it is installed. If i try to connect to the database from across network using SQL plus i get the following error

ORA-12560 TNS PRotocol Adapter Error

Any pointers are welcome

Check your tnsnames.ora file on the client machine. Make sure an entry exists for the server in that file.
