I am trying to install the Oracle Client on a an XP-Pro machine.

The server is running Oracle 7.*** and the client we normally use with the NT boxes is 8.0.3.***

I managed to install the native driver and can connect with SQL*PLus. I am now trying to install the ODBC driver, but the installer keeps dying on me.

Ever Seen that problem before ?

Any suggestion is welcomed

try workaround described in
http://ww.orafaq.net/msgboard/windows/messages/634.htm, even if you do not find symcjit.dll on your machine.
