Hi,

I am not able to launch Oracle 8i (817) installation pad. Once I insert the CD, it pops up a menu. I select the options "Install oracle 8i". It runs and die. It goes back to desktop without any error. I have tried to run the same cd on other machine and it successfully shown the installation jave uid. My machine is Win Nt workstation with service pad 6a. Jdk 1.3.0.1 is also installed on my machine. Please give me some help. I will really appreciate.

Is your other machine a P4, if so read other posts about P4 issues.

Hi,

Thanks for the advice. However, I am using PIII machine. I have tried to copy the the oracle/bin folder from my other machine. I force to run the universal installer. However, after the installation, I have so many errors. It doesen't even create a services for my database
