I'm working in a network group which is studying the IPv6.Recently I installed oracle10g in the RedHat Linux-9(kernel-2.4.22,which supported the IPv4/IPv6 dual mode),but I can't configure the oracle10g in IPv6.

I tried every method to find the solution, including read the oracle10g document, use the google, ask the support service, but there was no answer. And I can't login into the metlink to ask question because I didn't have the CSI number.

So who can give me some advice about the configuration.Thank you very muck!

You make a habit out of cross-posting (even at the OTN forums).

That's not so nice. Don't be greedy...

Hi,

"Oracle is committed to providing IPv6 support to meet customer requirements. The plan is to provide IPv6 address support in Oracle Net Services in the Oracle11g Database release time frame."

"Does Oracle9i Database or Oracle10g Database support IPv6?
Neither Oracle9i nor Oracle10g Database provides native IPv6 support. The plan is to provide native IPv6 address support, i.e., 128-bit address support, in Oracle Net Services in Oracle11g Database release time frame"

Best regards.

to Frank:
thank you for you reply!^_^

I already read the SoD_IPv6.pdf,which said
"Neither Oracle9i nor Oracle10g Database provides native IPv6 support"
but it also said
"Can I run Oracle9i/10g Database and Oracle9iAS in a mixed IPv4 and IPv6environment? And how?
Yes. For the detailed configurations, please refer to your specific operating system’s administration guide."
and I installed oracle10g in the RedHat Linux-9(kernel-2.4.22,which supported the IPv4/IPv6 dual mode),so now I'm just looking forward to the "detail configurations".
I also send e-mail to stella.kister@oracle.com to ask for help, but he said he don't know ethither.
So,who can help me !!!!!!!!

It sounds like they try to say: if the system allows running IPv4 and IPv6 simultaneously, you can still use SQL*Net over the IPv4 configuration.

That said, one should fairly easily be able to create an IPv4 tunnel over an IPv6 connection and run SQL*Net through it.

Best regards.
