Hi all,

I am testing to store the archive_logfiles with log_archive_dest_2='SERVICE=stdby'.
To get this I need to set up a tnsnames entry for this Standy-Database.
Could someone guide me to get this entry clear.

the tnsnames entry will tremain same as is for a normal production database.

But it has to be an external name or should the SID be the same as the prod ?

That depends on your choice.
You can have the SID same as production database, that shdn't be creating any issues... Actually a shot in dark....
