Could u help me to connect remotely to an oracle920i database
using forms 6 or sqlplus 8.0. i don't know if it's possible.
My Oracle 9i database is installed on Windows 2000 server and i have no problem to log in localy. i check the listener it run with success. I get the message ( both in sql plus 8 and forms 6) :
connect system/password@hostname.domanine.net

ERROR:
ORA-12514: Message 12514 not found; product=RDBMS80; facility=ORA

Hi

On the client side, u need to modify the tnsnames.ora file & add oracle servers SID information there.
After that check for the connectivity using tnsping <service_identifier>.
