Does anyone know if Oracle 10g XE client can connect to Oracle 10g Enterprises on LINUX?

I installed Oracle 10g XE client on Windows, but can't find where is tnsnames.ora file. When try to remote connect Oracle server by using SQLPLUS, Got following error

ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified

Need help to find tnsnames.ora file and define the connect_string there. Thanks.

if there is no tnsnames.ora file already on your machine create one and set the TNS_ADMIN env variable

Thanks & Regards
