Broward County is a large local government agency serving over 1.7 million southeast Florida residents. As one of the fastest growing areas of the nation for high technology and recognized for various e-government initiatives, Broward County has a great opportunity for a Senior Oracle DBA to join our team of dedicated professionals. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to provide DBA support for existing and new Oracle databases using hands-on experience in the following: data modeling and normalization; Oracle Designer; Oracle 8i-9i-10g installation, configuration and administration on Solaris and AIX, OLTP and DW implementation; SQL & PL/SQL programming; Oracle Enterprise Manager and Grid Control; Oracle RMAN backup and recovery using Veritas NetBackup, SAN and Disk array subsystems using EMC or Hitachi and UNIX kornshell programming. Working knowledge of object-oriented application design and multi-tier server architecture implementation is desired.



QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in computer science or related field; six years experience in systems analysis, systems design and applications programming relevant to area of assignment including related project management experience; or any equivalent combination of relevant training and experience. Candidates possessing experience with Java, .NET, JSP, Servlet application development and administration using WebSphere or Oracle 9i App Server, and Oracle DBA Certified are preferred.
