I created Logical Standby database using Grid Control Data Guard and kept most of configuration as default. Primary and Standby database both on the same machine but under different file systems. I am getting following error message:

Archiver Hung Alert Log Error

ORA-16038: log 3 sequence# 76 cannot be archived
ORA-19504: failed to create file ""
ORA-00312: online log 3 thread 1: '/oradata05/mid/log03.log'

There is enough space available in all the File Systems. I am using Oracle 10.2.0.2 version - I also need to find out: I am using this Logical Standby DB as reporting Database and need keep few table for read-write. In other words, these few tables doesn't need to be in Syn with Primary Database. Can any help me out ??

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Tom

Did you check to see that the table(s) being replicated are supported in Data Guard? Perhaps one of the columns is unsupported, resulting in this error? Discussion in:
