Can some one help abt

1) Is it possible to configure real time log application in Oracle 9i .I come to know abt using current logfile option .But wont work in 9i . I configured standby redo log file

2) Is standby_archive_dest parameter is of any importance in databa guard configuration (manual switch over). because i am getting my archived log getting tranported location pointed by this parameter.
If Possible Plz see my post

Real time was 1st introduced in 10g.prior to 10g there was no such a option .But you can do it by using manual switch of log file.

Check other thread for answer.

===ORACLE9i=======
Thankx
So it is not possible to do real time log transport
I tried to use value VALID_FOR but it is not working. However values like LGWR SYNC NET_TIMEOUT=30 are applicable to LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_n parameter. Can u tell me when to use LGWR instead of ARC process for redo transport.

Only one way after every transaction manually switch log file no other option..

There's no such a functionality in 9i which provide REAL TIME LOG apply services..
